Angus Reynolds

Director and Head guide

Angus is a dedicated fly fisherman and guiding is one of his favourite aspects of fishing. The challenges, and shared moments with all walks of life keep him going. From Seychelles to Mongolia, New Zealand and Norway Angus has pursued fish all over but his true passion lies in the NSW freshwater fishing scene. Based in Tumut he spends his days guiding and when not guiding hes off fishing and looking for the next adventure or hassling the local bakery for delicious treats. Angus has a light and friendly but also kind of serious approach to everything and while he likes to keep things spontaneous and adventurous, hes always thinking about the best options and the safety and condition of the people he is around.

Cameron Lui

Southern Highlands + About

Gday im Cameron lui your local southern highlands fly fishing guide, I was born in Bowral and have spent a lot of time scouring the area for fish to throw flies at, I am constantly checking water levels and fishing all the streams and lakes to make sure the little guys are all sitting happy, the constant cold weather and plenty of rainfall keeps our fish healthy and willing to eat flies. When im not on the rivers I’m tying flies and thinking about the next fish... you could say I’m an addict. I first got involved in fly fishing when my mother started taking myself and my siblings to fly tying lessons when we were kids and honestly I thought it was just an excuse for old blokes to hang out which I didn’t appreciate until a fair few years later, getting out fishing is the perfect time to have a chat and a laugh while taking in the beautiful scenery that Australia has to offer all while catching a few fish while you do it. I absolutely love fishing and the thrill i get for stalking and hunting fish that don’t want to be seen. So if your keen

April Vokey

Blue Mountains and Central West

Why hello there! I’m April Vokey, fly fisher, outdoorswoman, membership coordinator, casting instructor, mother, world-traveler, DIY enthusiast, and master of dirty jokes. My journey in the fly fishing world has been one of passion, dedication, and unwavering advocacy for the sport. From a young age, I felt an unbreakable bond with nature and the rush of the river. Even as a toddler, I was engrossed in the pursuit, meticulously assembling my tackle box with an array of lures and baits. At 16, you could find me chasing salmon and steelhead in the rivers along the coastline of British Columbia, baitcaster and driver’s license in hand. For me, those experiences weren’t just about the catch, rather a cornerstone of self-discovery and an escape from the challenges of city life. In my late teens, I discovered fly fishing and knew that I had to somehow structure my life so I could do it every day. Guiding for sturgeon and salmon with a local outfitter was a stepping stone, and at age 24, in 2007, I founded my own company, Fly Gal Ventures, to share my passion as a guide. My passion for fly fishing and the outdoors has since taken me to far-flung corners of the world, all in pursuit of the next adventure. Over the years, I’ve been humbled by talented anglers and a supportive community who eventually drove me to start Anchored Outdoors, an online membership that has been my most fulfilling venture to date. What started as the Anchored Podcast forged into something more inclusive, and I hope you’ll join me on my journey both here on my personal website, and at Anchored Outdoors where we work together to be better… better anglers, better people, better fishing buddies. Sign up for free here and I look forward to getting to know you better soon!”
