Learn how to row a drift boat like a pro. It’s all good fun being out with guides but why not learn how to do what we do so you and some mates or grandma or significant other can buy one or hire a raft from Haul and enjoy your own missions at your own time and leisure? Once you have the basic skills and know-how you can set your own adventures and go exploring.
Some of the best fun in the drift boat fishing game is being the guy or gal on the oars and locking in with the angler and picking the river apart as a team.

There’s a lot to getting it right but in this two day offering you will learn everything to get you from A (launch) to B (pull out) and all of the intricacies to go with it to build on your skills.

Once you have been through our course you will have access to significantly reduced drift boat and gear hire rates, insider information about the rivers, river services including shuttles, rescue assistance and more great advice and perks.

It’s drift boating but it’s also life skills, water experience and a way of life. There’s way more to it than rowing down the river and this course will show you everything.

The course is for one or two people per session to keep focus and concentration on the task. 

Two day drift boating course;
Accommodation optional
Two 10 hour days on two different waters

Once the course is completed;

Drift boat hire rate : $ 350/day
Planning and advice including where to drift, where to put in and pull out and where has been fishing well and what techniques
Drift boat specific flies
$3 each nymphs
$4.50 dries
$10 Streamers
Shuttle rates: from $40
Rod combos suited to the conditions: $50/day and reduced rates for multiple days
River assistance including rescue and contingencies

Owning a drift boat comes with its challenges such as maintenance and storage. Renting a drift boat negates the need for this and you can simply pick up a boat all set up or request for us to launch and retrieve the craft as required. You wont have to worry about a thing but if you do feel like owning your own boat we are happy to help with choosing the right boat for you and tips on everything from buying, maintenance and accessorising.

Once confident with rowing a raft or drift boat the possibilities for fun on the water are greatly improved. Head off solo, take friends fishing or simply go for a scenic cruise and picnic on the river. It’s a great world out there and being in control of the adventure is an amazing time.
