An air of excitement always builds as the rafts are prepped for a day floating down the mighty Tumut river. Breaking into groups of two anglers and a guide we will take off up river to launch these incredible boats. Drift boating for those who havent experienced it, is an experience like no other. Floating quietly through the tree lined river catching fish from these comfortable custom boats we will make our way to points where we will pull over in the wilderness for more land based sessions, picking out the best the River has to offer. It can be hard to focus on the fishing with the stimulation of the drifting experience but there is plenty of time to soak it in. Theres nothing quite like it.

Another lazy lunch in the company of the river, and we will finish out day drifting right back to where it all began on the foreshore of Nimbo Fork Lodge for the conclusion of this incredible and unique experience.

Sunday evening
This is the conclusion of the formal package however you may want to book in another night at the Lodge or if you need to be somewhere thats up to you.

We sincerely look forward to this amazing time and hope you can join us for this special fly fishing occasion.

Learning to Fly Fish | Craig and Lou

A stunning day drift boat fishing the Tumut River for this couple of thrill seakers. New to flyfishing, they came with the right attitude, the one that say, were here to learn, enjoy and come what may.

Not long after launching we were into fish. It took no time for the pair to get in the rhythm and start picking the water apart. At times we just floated and laughed and at times there was competitive banter. One for one they both ended up with a great rainbow trout and a great brown trout only a couple of casts apart. A massive total catch with a couple of cherries on top.

On the guided fly fishing trip we learn the basics of fly fishing, have a lot of action on dry fly and nymphs as well as a lot of practice on the casting, fighting and controlling of the fly fishing system. All in the comfort of our specially designed NRS rafts. Cold drinks and snacks are a plenty.
